Our Group

We are a very diverse group of golfers who play every Wednesday with the exception of Christmas, -and that's only if it falls on a Wednesday. We play almost always in the Riverside/San Bernardino area of Southern California where the weather (almost) always permits us to play.

Our group count is 12 - 20 players every week. No, these are not tournaments or Men's Club outings, but just a bunch of guys who get along and want to play for a few bucks.

I try to configure teams that are different from week-to-week with very few exceptions. This is very difficult to do, but somewhat maintainable because of my "A, B, C and D" player format (with a 3-out-of-4 best scores per hole) . For example: If you shoot in the 70's to low 80's a reasonable amount of the time, you are an "A". If you shoot in the mid 80's to low 90's each week, then you are a "B" and so on. I then try to make up each team consisting of one player from each level. (The reason I use this format and not an official handicap/index system, is because most our guys don't want to bother with either getting a handicap or just don't want to shell out the extra 40 or so bucks each year to maintain a handicap through a Men's league.)

The "betting" consists of $1 front, back and overall Nassaus, 25 cent greenies on every hole, 25 cent skins (with carry-overs) and 25 cent birdies and sandy pars. On a good day, one can make a whole $12! However, one can lose a big 8 bucks. Ooh....

Enough about that for now. Basically, if you can play golf, get along with just about anybody and don't have a violent temper on the course, you are more than welcome to join in. Oh, and one more thing: We play by the rules! There are no Mulligans, gimmies or any other fictitious golf rules. This avoids any and all arguments regarding scores.

Now, these are adventures...
